So another week has passed, and I’m continuing to make progress on my project. Since my last post, I have completed my pitch and given my project an official title.
Overall the pitch was successful and my idea was liked. The main piece of feedback was that I didn’t need to do separate angles for the print feature and the online feature. However, although this is not something that I need to do, I would like to do differing angles as this is then more fresh material on my whole subject umbrella of mental health in the music industry.
Now, the official title of my whole project is DJ Minds Matter, which I took inspiration from the Music Minds Matter helpline that Help Musicians UK set up. I’ve also given this blog a revamp, so that this whole project can be distinctive and so it’s easy for you all to check up on my progress. I’ve also set up a twitter account @DJMINDSMATTER which you can also follow to keep up with all my progress.
This post is only a short one as I’m about to interview Emika, who I mentioned in previous posts. She will be speaking to me about her debut release ‘Falling in Love With Sadness’, an album based upon her own struggles with her mental health.
You can give it a listen here.
